Increased DOMS during cutting?
« on: June 07, 2013, 09:49:43 AM »
I've cut some carbs for about two weeks and got a bit leaner, but once again I got DOMS from deadlifting... that only happens when I cut. I don't really know why... cause I do not get it from any other exercise... and I'm getting stronger...
Does anyone have an explanation for this?
The only time I get DOMS otherwise is on Gironda routines like 4 sides. :)

Hi Steff!

Here a good source of information in wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed_onset_muscle_soreness

It's the same pain that I have in my left lower abdominal region that puts me out nearly all the exercise.  It's curiosous that it's caused by eccentric exercise, like the press or the deads.  It's not present in isometrics exercises or concentric exercises (like curls or rows)
Maybe in the time you cut down your CH intake, the ATP provision to the muscle is not as good, so the effort is greater and the DOMS appears.
