The not Hercules films that one of them some publishers advertished as thematic Hercules too.  The last is:  Ursus, the terror of the Kirguishi , and not "Hercules, prisioner of Evil" as was knowd in english-spoken lands. The action of this movie happended in s. XIV in a kingdom near caucasus.
In the other,  Reg ends the play role of action hero: Hercules, Maciste and Ursus.  Also, a comic hero. The only thing caracter that he could be played was Conan, but the great readers of conan comics comes in the seventies with collections like "Tha savage sword of conan".  I think that the personality of Reg goes better with Hercules than Conan, so this last is the king of the thieves.  Better with the trouble life of Arnold. Respects of course to Arnie.   Hey man, I want you in your finest condition for your age in this film.   And you know as well as me that a fine 6 packs abs is possible.  8)

The other two Hercules film.  The last is more than a peplum film, that counted with the co-starring of Cristopher Lee, and of course, has some vampir thematic.  This let that the movie was also know "Hercules against the vampires".
The first is the worst of the Reg Park movies because was made with piece of other two Hercules films.  It has a good fight of Hercules against the bad character. His name in english land was:  "Hercules the avenger".  The poster I put is from spanish land.

Come on! Let's write your opinions!

The first made and the incredible impact it had in the public opinion that maybe likes epic films, but not bodybuilders world.  Reg was really massive and phantastic.  This film was the originator that named Reg characterization as the "Real Hercules".  Even better than Reeves (with respect, of course.  He was the first Hercules and the top bodybuilder that most films did until the Oak did his part) And better than Arnold's one  (Hercules has to be with his beard and be a wish man also.)
The best movie he did.  And all was new here (In Hercules in the center of earth, they used some sets of this films).

He is a part of an article of:
that is also in the www.regpark.net forum, that tells some points in the life of the young Reg Park before heenter full time in the world of BB:

Reg Park before the bodybuilding

Reg Park was born June 17, 1928 in Leeds, England named Roy, but he adopted the name of his father, Reg Park Snr. who was owner of a local gym and a barbell company. As a boy Reg competed in various amateur track events: he was a decent sprinter with 10.3 second time on the 100 yard distance, a discus thrower and a long jumper. Although his passion was the football and he played for Leeds United Reserve Team.

During one of the football matches he injured his knee, which ended up his dreams of becoming a professional footballer. At the hospital he did some rehabilitation exercises for his knee with weights. The leg extension machine wasn’t popular at this time so he used an iron boot and made extensions with increasing number of repetitions, uncapable of adding weights (in his case this would mean to get a heavier iron boot).

After the knee accident he started reading “Health & Strength” but was more interested in gymnastics that in bodybuilding. For him to do more than a hundred push ups was as easy as pie. But then fate intervened and while browsing the new issue of the “Health & Strength” magazine he stumbled upon a pic of Vic Nicolette – an American bodybuilder, who had just won the title of Mr. New York City. The idol of Arnold Schwarzenegger has just found his own idol.

Aside of Vic Nicolette, Steve Reeves and John Grimek ispired Reg park too. Steve inspired him for his attractive and well-proportioned phisique and John for his athletic skills and mass. Both Reeves and Grimek played again a role in Reg Park’s path to glory, but you’ll read about that later.
One more bodybuilder influenced Reg Park. In 1946 he was struck by the impressive physique of Dave Cohen, which had 17 inch arms, a 17 inch neck and 17 inch calves. Reg went to Dave and spoke to him. They became friends at once and upon the supervision of Dave Reg started lifting weights.
At this time Dave Cohen was visiting his training partner’s…front room where they were equipped a gym only with a barbell and a pair of dumbells. Reg’s initial workout routine consisted of standing barbell presses, barbell curls, squats, pullovers and floor presses on the wooden floor – all done in three sets of 10-8-6 reps. His first “records” were press and curl both with 40lbs.
Reg Park traing three months with Dave and then joined the Army for two years, most of it in Singapore. As he was a physical training instructor he was doing exercises with different classes from nine to five. But there were no weights so he trained only with freestanding exercises for that period.

General Discussion / Re: Great pics of Reg Park

What about the failed Mr Universes of the 70s?  Well, I would not call them as failed, as the second or the 3th position in the high class is a very good position for a free drug man over 40 years.
There is a wanderfull shot of Reg in the 1973 Mr universe ( the contest that we have less pics of him) were Park spread his arms like gigantic wings, showing the great dorsals and the serratus and ribcage.  A monument of the classical body.  In the same photography is showed Boyer Coe, that at last won the competition.  He has more thicker muscles and better definition, but the typology of steroids is clear seen.

One can imagine the vast amount of dates and lifes, of coustoms and ways of living the game  from the end of the XIX century till today?  Get over the saddest thing that is for this an other sports the use anabolic steroids and grow hormone we can see a true and consistent way of living, showing that time consumed in weight training is, when done seriously, a genesis of new energies and happiness, for us, for the family and for the rest of the society.
